Pilanesburg Nature reserve {wildlife photography}

I’ve been so excited about getting married, I’ve completely neglected the fact that this is actually my photography blog.. whoops! πŸ™‚ So for a break in wedding inspiration, here 3 photographs I took back in 2010 during the Soccer world cup. We had an Argentinian couple staying with us via Couch Surfing.org (see my info page for more on that) and we took them on their first ‘safari’ at Pilanesburg Nature Reserve. These are a few of my favourites of the day.

It was misty in the morning and I really like misty wildlife photos. πŸ™‚

This was taken later in the day. I love giraffes! I get excited everytime we see one. πŸ˜‰

 Curious Hornbills are always close by, especially at picnic spots.

Of course Pilanesburg is infamous for their elephants. We have seen these gentle giants from close up everytime we have gone and have had our fair share of close encounters.

In my opinion is Pilanesburg the perfect one day outing for those who want to experience some wildlife but the Kruger National Park is just a little too far. πŸ™‚
