Spend the day outdoors at the beautiful La’Wiida Lodge learning the art of nature and landscape photography with this one-day workshop. You will be joined by Monique Brits, a professional photographer, who will teach you what it takes to capture breathtaking images.
We will use vital photographic elements such as aperture, shutter speed, composition and lighting. You will learn how to utilise the changing light and weather conditions of nature and find out how to shoot into the light to achieve flare-free pictures.
Enjoy experimenting with advanced composition techniques and see what a difference it will make with immediate feedback on your photos from Monique throughout the day. You’ll be capturing amazing photos in no time after this incredible One Day Nature Photography Workshop.

What happens on the day?
Please note: All types of digital cameras are welcome, including point-and-shoots, but most people have either a more advanced point-and-shoot (4/3rds camera or mirrorless camera are PERFECT), or a dSLR with at least one zoom lens (you do not need an expensive camera and bag full of lenses for this workshop).
You do need to have some basic knowledge of how your camera works. See my Camera Basics Class for a half-day class on how your camera works.
On arrival, you will be met by Monique who will spend the day outdoors teaching you practical techniques and skills to help you get the best possible photos.
You will get a brief introduction to how set up your camera, before you dive into the exciting stuff such as styles, rules and guidelines when it comes to composition and lighting.
We will go on a game drive to capture some wildlife and later take breathtaking photos of the Magaliesberg mountains as the sun sets. You will leave the workshop a more confident photographer with a camera full of great pictures.
After sunset we go through my personal digital darkroom workflow – using your images. I’ll be working with the latest version of Lightroom & Photoshop, but you are welcome to bring your own laptop and use whatever processing software you like – OR just let me process your image on my computer – either way is fine. Our goal is to make a beautiful keepsake photo from one of your images for you to take home. We have dinner together before everyone goes home.
Please ensure you bring a formatted memory card and fully charged batteries to last you the entire day.
DEPOSIT AND REFUND POLICY A non-refundable R500 deposit will reserve you a spot for the above workshops.
